swissethics published a guiding document on issues to consider when submitting a project on artificial intelligence (AI) to a research ethics committee. The purpose of this document is to support research involving AI through a set of indicative questions outlining the basic AI-specific issues that ethics committees expect to be covered in research protocols. The document is deliberately broad to encompass all uses of AI in research. Given their diversity and considering that each issue may not apply to every project, it should be read as a reminder of minimal requirements. The document was developed in close collaboration with representatives of each ethics committee and is available in English (link).
