Giovan Maria Zanini has been elected as the new president of swissethics by its members, effective from 1 January 2026. He succeeds Dr Susanne Driessen, who is stepping down after more than 10 years in office. Giovan Maria Zanini is President of the Ticino Ethics Commission and was the cantonal pharmacist for the canton of Ticino for decades. He also brings national experience to the role as former President of the Cantonal Pharmacists' Association and member of the Swissmedic Council. The entire organisation wishes Giovan Maria Zanini every success in his new role and thanks Susanne Driessen for her many years of service to swissethics. At the same time as the change in the presidency, the new swissethics statutes (in German, in French) will come into force on 1 January 2026.
